Recherche Photography specializes in natural, non-traditional fine art portraits of maternity, small children and families. I strive to capture children as they are in real life and avoid posed, cookie-cutter shots. This means an organic pose-free portrait shoot that focuses on your family in all its messy, unpredictable human glory! Email me if you are interested in photographs of your loved ones and we’ll create the perfect package.

I am mesmerized by the rituals and ceremonies that define our lives as humans. Weddings are remarkable celebrations of romance, family, and joy. The process of photographing a wedding is full of mystery, celebration, and beauty. I adore it. I delight in learning the unique details, timelines, and values of my clients and tailoring packages to match. Dream a little! Talk to me about your dream package and let’s make it a reality.

As a professional photographer for over twelve years I combine art, authenticity and a passion for life’s most romantic moments in all of my work with dreamy destination weddings, newborn babies, family portraits and my fine art botanicals. Ideally each one of my final images will have the essence of a gorgeous vintage print found curled up in a grandmother’s attic – a timeless treasure.
If not at work, I am most likely in my garden, on a trail with my cattle dogs (Finn & India), in the kitchen creating new recipes, yoga class, or traveling the world with my hunky husband, Jay. Obsessions include but are not limited to: dying my hair, organizing, flea markets, photographing flowers, making mix CDs and drooling in Anthropologie. I’ve been exceptionally blessed to travel all over the world and always LOVE to come home to my native town of Boulder, CO. (Yes, I was born here! Lucky me!)

I work out of my darling home studio in old-town Louisville, Colorado. We took three years to renovate the house from top to bottom and re-landscape every inch. Now I have my dream space complete with Pottery Barn desk (perhaps the only thing piece of furniture I own that is brand new), bay window for my signature grainy backlit images, sky lights, gardens, big wall-mounted flatscreen for viewing session slideshows and all my vintage furniture, props and backdrops. I love working from home. People ask me if I have hard time setting boundaries with my office so close. My response is that my business is part of my heart and world and I like to keep everything I love very close. I love to putter in the garden in between shoots, to work in my pjs, to make green juice for my clients that are feeling tired and overwhelmed, to take naps whenever I can squeeze them in and to take mid-day jaunts on the open-space trails with my dogs. I have gypsy in my blood so I’m not sure how long we’ll stay, but for now I’m pretty perfectly happy. Please come for a visit. I would love to share a cup of tea and hear some of your story.
