cynthia and jason- engagement portraits in boulder, colorado . . .

Just a couple days before Christmas, Cynthia and Jason touched down in Denver. Early the next morning we met knee deep in snow at the base of Boulder’s Foothill mountains at Chautuaqua. We also visited Pearl Street Mall for the tree-lined lanes. It was magical morning. One of my favorites. ![]()
Cara and Brandon are Engaged in Boulder, Colorado . . .
Cara and Brandon are adorable. I am so excited to be photographing their wedding at the Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park next fall. How apropos that we were able to photograph their engagement portraits THIS fall at a few of their favorite spots in Boulder, Colorado. It was just the most lovely day and we had so much fun!
Engagement Portraits for a Mexico Destination Wedding with Katy and Todd in Louisville, Colorado
This beautiful couple is tying the knot this February in Mexico. This Studio Portrait Session will serve for engagement photos and new family portraits. The cutie in the middle is Todd’s spunky daughter Julie Ann. Thank goodness they brought her along as she was great entertainment and prompted some very nice natural smiles. Such a beautiful family. Congrats you three!!

Mary Beth and Jeff are getting married. . .
I adore Mary Beth and Jeff. She is just the sweetest thing in the universe and he is a laugh-a-minute kind of guy. I am sooooo excited to shoot their wedding at The St. Julien in June! We photographed their engagement photos on a very overcast evening, which, as everyone knows, is the PERFECT light for a photo shoot! We walked to the open space behind our house (complete with cows!) and then shot along the side of our house under my lighted arbor. Gorgeous light, adorable couple, happy photographer.

Candid Engagement Photo Session at a Boulder Farm with Kara & Justin
This photo shoot with Kara & Justin was so fun! They are super easy to work with, super comfortable with each other and we just wandered all over the Boulder farm that belongs to family friends and shot away. I was nervous because it was SO sunny, but with a little bit of fill flash, we are all so happy with the way the images came out!

Annie and Nick are Engaged!
Annie & Nick make me SO excited to be a wedding photographer! After ten years one would expect the well to run dry, but it is people like these two that keep filling me up with inspiration and fortitude. Clearly we choose the day of our engagement portrait session PERFECTLY. It could not have been more gorgeous! I am so looking forward to photographing their wedding next June at the St. Julien Hotel and Spa in Boulder, Colorado. And thank you ever so much to Calluna Events for passing my name along- will be such a pleasure to work with you, as always!
Nick took this one of Annie & I!!
And I snapped this one of the adorable Foot of The Mountain Motel across the street from the park where we did this shoot as it might be a great spot for their guests to stay!
Annie & Nick’s Online Gallery is available at www.pictage.com/744951
I can’t resist posting Annie’s email to me after seeing her engagement photos. It will demonstrate why it is so amazing to work with them and is also a very flattering testimonial! A very encouraging way to start my day!
“Oh my gosh – I LOVE THESE PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are the best! I just love them….I remember how goofy we felt and it just turned out so well – especially because we are smiling in every one! I just love them, Regina! I am so so so so happy we got you! These are the best…and the best thing about them is that they look like us and that is really important to me. We don’t look posed or like we are trying to be someone else and that is all thanks to you! Thanks so so so much! And the moms are in love with them too! You are the best and I can’t thank you enough!”
Sunrise Engagement Photo Session in Boulder, Colorado
I fell in love with Kit and Charley as soon as I met them. So much so, that I agreed to shoot their sunrise wedding ceremony this September up at The Sunrise Amphitheater in Boulder. And THEN I agreed to do their engagement photo session up there at sunrise as well! And most of you know how well I function in the before 11am (or don’t rather) so these images are remarkable for a few different reasons! Can’t wait to shoot your wedding in 5 weeks K&C!! As always, I am so flattered you selected me as your wedding photographer!

Boulder Engagement Photo Session at Chautauqua: Amy & Heath
When I drove out to Chautauqua to meet Amy & Heath who had just flown in from Virginia for a weekend of wedding planning, I thought it was going to be way too sunny to shoot out in the open hillside and was already thinking of alternative locations. But I should have known better after all these years of shooting outside and my love of sun flare! We hung out right there and shot the whole session on the open space and I’m not sure they really ever noticed I was there. I may be making a quick trip out to their home in Virginia to do portraits of their four horses and three dogs and some documentary work for them. Their dream is a ranch where they can rehabilitate horses and train dogs. It is my dream to document lives like that! But, I’ll be photographing their wedding up at Devil’s Thumb Ranch this summer and that will be dreamy, too!!

Recherche Engagement Photo Session with Krystal & Chris
Krystal & Chris have opted OUT of a big complicated wedding and are eloping to Belize. And they are bringing their photographer with them so that their ultra simple & romantic ceremony among the beach-side Mayan ruins will be forever documented. And THIS is my specialty! Included in all my wedding packages are a set of engagement photos. Serendipiously we had a gorgeous December afternoon in Louisville the day we shot these images!

Oh boy, do I love dogs! And so do Krystal & Chris! (Actually, is there anyone in Colororado who doesn’t? I think it may be a pre-requisite.) These gorgeous pups were a lovely addition to our photo session!

Ashley & Aaron- Engagement Photos!
I spotted Ashley’s shoes straight away and yelled my sentiments from across the parking lot (in a very feminine fashion, of course). She gave her fiance an “I told you!” look. And then we took pictures. My engagement photos sessions are very mellow. We move around a lot, I constantly command my subjects not to look at me, I chatter away the whole time and usually trip on something. And then we’re done. They last about 20-40 minutes. And at the end they say (usually the guy)- “wow, that was way easier than I thought…” And the she gives him an “I told you!” look.
