An Engagement Portrait Paint Fight with Allison & Carlos in Boulder, CO
Carlos is a painter. Allison is adorable and fun. I hadn’t heard of “paint fight photos” when she suggested the idea but it sounded perfect for this couple. They brought a stock pile of natural wash-away paints to the open space trail in Boulder which will remain nameless in case someone wants to come after me. Boulderites are pretty protective of their open space and I was preparing to be lambasted by someone during the shoot. However, the only reactions we got were a couple of runners who gave us the thumbs up while laughing. Phew! The shoot really only took about 30 minutes. We made sure to do before and after shots. They brought along water bottles to do a little rinse before getting back into their car (covered with sheets) just so they could see the road. The paint dried quickly so I think they actually went to get a bite to eat before heading home. This is such a fun, dynamic and colorful spin on an engagement photo session! I’m so looking forward to their wedding at Crags Lodge in Estes Park, Colorado in August. (Carlos is going to give me some intro lessons on painting this fall! I’m very excited to play a little and get off this computer once in a while!)

Cara and Brandon are Engaged in Boulder, Colorado . . .
Cara and Brandon are adorable. I am so excited to be photographing their wedding at the Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park next fall. How apropos that we were able to photograph their engagement portraits THIS fall at a few of their favorite spots in Boulder, Colorado. It was just the most lovely day and we had so much fun!
